Khadi means handspun and handwoven cloth. In 1918 Mahatma Gandhi started the Swadeshi Movement for Khadi as a relief programme for the poor living in India's rural villages.
Our beautiful handspun, handloomed Khadi cotton cushions & throws have been produced based on these Gandhian ideologies by our traditional weavers in rural Indian villages. Cushions and throws are stitched by women who have been trained in these skills and given regular work by an organization on the outskirts of Delhi. Your purchase is supporting our work in sustainable and ethical labour practices.
